How Sezvo pricing works

Sezvo is an electronic money institution operated by UAB Aušra Pay, authorised and supervised by the Bank of Lithuania and passporting across the European Economic Area. Your account comes with a Lithuanian (LT) IBAN and our BIC OCENLT22, so you can send and receive money the same way you would with any European bank. The difference is in the pricing: we build everyday banking around a small number of plans with prices you can read in a single sitting, and we publish the full fee schedule rather than hiding it behind a login.

There are three plans — Standard, Plus and Metal. Standard is free for as long as you keep it. Plus and Metal carry a monthly subscription, billed either month to month or annually at a discount. Choosing annual billing lowers the effective monthly price by around twenty per cent; you pay once for twelve months and keep every feature for the year. There is no joining fee, no exit fee, and no penalty for changing your mind. The plan you pick changes your allowances and perks, not the rules of the account underneath.

Everything below is the detail behind the comparison table: what each plan includes, the allowances that come with it, what happens once you pass an allowance, and the principles we hold ourselves to. If a number here ever disagrees with what you see in the app, the in-app figure and your plan’s current terms are the ones that govern your account.

The three plans at a glance

Standard is the free plan and a complete account in its own right. It includes a multi-currency current account, a free virtual card, access to savings vaults, commission-free investing and the self-custodial crypto wallet. You can hold and spend across our full range of currencies, send SEPA and domestic transfers at no cost, and withdraw a monthly allowance of cash abroad without a fee. A physical card is available on Standard for a one-off £5 issuance fee. It is designed for people who want a clean, capable account without a subscription.

Plus is the mid tier, priced at €9.99 per month (or €7.99 per month on annual billing). It removes the foreign exchange mark-up entirely, raises your fee-free ATM allowance, includes a free physical card and custom card design, adds a handful of free SWIFT transfers each month, lifts your savings rate, lowers crypto fees, and bundles travel insurance, robo-advisory, priority support and a small cashback rate on card spending. It suits people who travel, spend in several currencies, or want their balance working a little harder.

Metal is the top tier at €19.99 per month (or €15.99 per month annually). It includes everything in Plus and adds the metal card, unlimited fee-free ATM withdrawals and unlimited free SWIFT transfers, our highest savings rate, the lowest crypto fees, phone insurance, unlimited airport lounge access, one per cent cashback on spending, and 24/7 concierge support. It is built for frequent travellers and people who want the fullest version of the account.

Multi-currency accounts and FX

Every plan opens a multi-currency current account. You can hold and spend across 28 currencies in one place, convert between them inside the app, and pay in local currency when you travel or shop internationally. When you spend on your card in a currency you do not hold, we convert at the interbank rate we receive, and the only question is the mark-up applied on top.

  • Standard: a flat 0.5% FX mark-up on currency conversion. There is no separate weekend surcharge and no tiered penalty — the rate is the rate.
  • Plus and Metal: 0% FX mark-up. You convert at the rate we get, with no margin added, on every supported currency.

We do not operate a “fair-usage” cliff that quietly reintroduces a mark-up once you convert a certain amount each month. The headline rate is what you pay. If our pricing for a specific currency pair ever differs — for example for a thinly traded exchange-rate market — the app shows the exact rate and any mark-up before you confirm, so there is never a surprise after the fact.

ATM withdrawals and limits

Cash is one of the places hidden fees usually live, so we keep it explicit. Domestic and foreign ATM withdrawals draw on a monthly fee-free allowance that scales with your plan. Once you pass the allowance, a small percentage fee applies to further withdrawals for the rest of that calendar month, and the allowance resets at the start of the next month.

  • Standard: £200 per month withdrawn free of charge; a 2% fee applies beyond that.
  • Plus: £400 per month free; the same modest percentage fee applies above the allowance.
  • Metal: unlimited fee-free withdrawals on the Sezvo side.

A note that holds for every provider, not just us: some ATM operators add their own surcharge before you withdraw. That fee belongs to the machine, not to Sezvo, and the operator must show it on screen before you confirm. We never add a margin on top of an operator surcharge. For security, each account also has daily withdrawal and spending limits that you can view and adjust within your own ceilings in the app, and you can freeze any card instantly if it goes missing.

Card fees

Cards are where the plans feel most different in the hand. Every plan includes a free virtual card you can create instantly and add to Apple Pay or Google Pay. Physical cards differ by tier.

  • Standard: a physical debit card is available for a one-off £5 issuance fee. There is no monthly card charge.
  • Plus: a free physical card plus custom card design, included in the subscription.
  • Metal: the metal card — a heavier, machined card — included, alongside everything in Plus.

Replacing a lost or damaged card may carry a small reissue and delivery fee depending on your plan and destination; the exact amount is shown before you order the replacement. Freezing and unfreezing a card, setting per-card limits, toggling online or contactless payments and creating additional virtual cards are always free. There is no monthly “card maintenance” fee on any plan — the card is part of the account, not a separate product you rent.

Transfers: SEPA, instant and SWIFT

Most money movement on Sezvo is free, and most of it is fast. Internal transfers between Sezvo accounts and SEPA Instant payments typically settle in around six seconds, day or night. Standard SEPA and domestic transfers are included at no cost on every plan.

  • SEPA and domestic (FPS-style) transfers: free on Standard, Plus and Metal. Sending euros across the EEA costs nothing.
  • SWIFT (international, outside SEPA): not included on Standard, where each SWIFT transfer carries a per-transfer fee shown before you send. Plus includes 5 free SWIFT transfers per month; Metal includes unlimited free SWIFT transfers.

SWIFT payments can involve intermediary or correspondent banks that deduct their own charges along the route. Where we can, we show you the likely correspondent cost and offer to cover charges in full (so the recipient gets the whole amount) before you confirm. We never inflate the exchange rate on a transfer to recoup a fee quietly — conversion uses the same FX terms as the rest of your plan.

Savings vaults and rates

Savings vaults let you set money aside for goals, and they earn interest paid daily rather than once a year. The rate you earn depends on your plan, and interest accrues on your balance every day it sits in a vault. Rates are quoted as an annual equivalent rate (AER) and are variable — we will tell you in advance if a rate changes.

  • Standard: up to 3.0% AER.
  • Plus: up to 4.4% AER.
  • Metal: up to 5.2% AER — our highest rate.

Because interest is calculated and paid daily, you see your balance grow continuously rather than waiting for a yearly payout, and you can withdraw from a flexible vault whenever you like without losing the interest already accrued. Savings held in vaults are part of your e-money balance and are safeguarded in line with the rules described below.

Investing and crypto fees

Commission-free investing is included on every plan. You can buy thousands of stocks and ETFs, invest fractionally from as little as £1, and pay €0 in trading commission regardless of tier. As with any investment, the value of what you hold can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you put in. Plus and Metal add robo-advisory, which builds and rebalances a diversified portfolio for you based on your goals.

The self-custodial crypto wallet spans nine networks — Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Optimism, Base, Avalanche, Bitcoin and TRON. Because the wallet is self-custodial, you hold your own keys; we do not take custody of your crypto assets. Our fee applies when you buy or sell through the app and scales down with your plan:

  • Standard: 1.5% crypto fee.
  • Plus: 0.5% crypto fee.
  • Metal: 0.25% crypto fee.

On-chain transactions also incur network (gas) fees set by each blockchain, not by Sezvo; we show the estimated network fee before you sign. Crypto assets are unregulated and highly volatile, are not covered by the deposit guarantee scheme, and can lose value rapidly. Only commit what you are prepared to lose.

Travel, lifestyle and support perks

The paid plans bundle benefits that would otherwise be separate purchases. Plus adds travel insurance, robo-advisory, priority support and 0.1% cashback on card spending. Metal adds everything in Plus plus phone insurance, unlimited airport lounge access, 1% cashback on spending and a 24/7 concierge. Insurance benefits are subject to their own policy terms, eligibility criteria and limits, which are set out in full when you activate them; cashback is credited automatically and has no separate claim process. In-app chat support is available to everyone, 24/7, on every plan.

Our no-hidden-fees principle

Transparent pricing is not a slogan for us; it is a set of rules we follow. We do not charge account-opening fees, account-closing fees, monthly maintenance fees on Standard, inactivity fees, or a fee to view your own statements. We do not widen the exchange rate to bury a charge. When a fee is unavoidable — an out-of-allowance ATM withdrawal, a Standard-plan SWIFT transfer, a card replacement, a third-party correspondent or ATM-operator charge — we show it to you clearly before you confirm, in the currency you are paying. The monthly subscription on Plus and Metal is the price; the allowances and perks are what you get for it.

We also keep the schedule readable. Rather than a forty-page tariff, the figures that affect everyday use live on this page and in your account. Where a number is variable — savings AER, FX reference rates, network gas — it is variable by nature, and we tell you before it changes wherever we are able to.

Upgrading, downgrading and cancelling

You can change plan whenever you like, directly in the app. When you upgrade from Standard to Plus or Metal, the new features and allowances apply immediately, and we charge a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period so you only pay for the days you hold the higher plan. When you downgrade or cancel a paid plan, the change takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep the benefits until then, after which your account simply continues on the lower plan. There is no exit fee and no minimum term.

If you switch between monthly and annual billing, the discount or adjustment is reflected at your next renewal. Your IBAN, balances, cards, vaults, investments and crypto wallet stay exactly where they are through any plan change — only allowances and perks move.

Fair usage

The unlimited elements of the Metal plan — ATM withdrawals, SWIFT transfers, lounge access — are governed by a fair-usage policy intended to prevent abuse, not to claw back normal personal use. Fair usage targets behaviour that is clearly commercial or system-gaming in a personal account: for example, running a money service business through a consumer account or systematically cycling funds to harvest perks. For ordinary travel and everyday spending you will never encounter it. If your usage ever approaches a fair-usage threshold we will contact you first; we do not apply silent penalties.

How your money is protected

Sezvo is an electronic money institution, not a traditional bank, and the distinction matters for how your money is protected. Customer funds held as e-money are safeguarded in line with EMI rules: they are held separately from the company’s own funds, in safeguarding accounts at credit institutions or in low-risk assets, so that your balance is protected if anything were to happen to Sezvo. This is different from the deposit guarantee scheme. Where deposit-guarantee protection applies, eligible deposits are protected up to €100,000 under the applicable scheme. Investments and crypto assets are separate again: investing puts your capital at risk, and crypto assets are unregulated, volatile, and not covered by the deposit guarantee scheme. We set this out plainly because the type of protection depends on the type of money, and we would rather you knew the difference than assumed it.

Availability and eligibility

Sezvo is available to residents of more than 160 countries, subject to local eligibility and our onboarding checks. To open an account you must be of legal age in your jurisdiction and complete identity verification (KYC), which usually takes a few minutes in the app. Some features — particular currencies, investing, crypto, business accounts, loans and insurance — may be limited or unavailable in certain countries for regulatory reasons; the app shows what is available to you during sign-up. Business accounts are priced separately from the personal plans described here.

The full fee schedule in brief

To gather it in one place: account opening and closing are free. Standard costs nothing monthly; Plus is €9.99 per month (€7.99 annually); Metal is €19.99 per month (€15.99 annually). FX mark-up is 0.5% on Standard and 0% on Plus and Metal. Fee-free ATM withdrawals are £200 per month on Standard, £400 on Plus and unlimited on Metal, with a small percentage fee beyond the allowance. Virtual cards are free everywhere; a physical card is £5 on Standard and free on Plus and Metal; the metal card is included on Metal. SEPA and domestic transfers are free on every plan; SWIFT is chargeable on Standard, with 5 free per month on Plus and unlimited on Metal. Savings reach up to 3.0%, 4.4% and 5.2% AER respectively, paid daily. Stock and ETF trades are commission-free on all plans; crypto fees are 1.5%, 0.5% and 0.25%. Third-party charges — ATM-operator surcharges, SWIFT correspondent fees and blockchain network gas — are set by others and always shown before you confirm.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Standard plan really free?

Yes. Standard has no monthly fee, no opening fee and no closing fee. It includes a multi-currency account, a free virtual card, savings, commission-free investing and the crypto wallet. The only optional cost is the one-off £5 for a physical card, which you can skip entirely and use the virtual card with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

What is the difference between safeguarding and the deposit guarantee?

As an e-money institution, Sezvo safeguards customer funds by holding them separately from company money, in line with EMI rules, so your balance is protected if the firm fails. The deposit guarantee scheme is a separate protection that covers eligible deposits up to €100,000 where it applies. Investments and crypto are not deposits and are not covered by the deposit guarantee scheme.

Will I be charged FX fees on Plus or Metal?

No mark-up from Sezvo. Plus and Metal convert at the rate we receive with a 0% mark-up, on every supported currency, with no monthly fair-usage cliff that reintroduces a fee. The exact rate is shown before you convert.

What happens if I use up my fee-free ATM allowance?

A small percentage fee (2% on Standard) applies to withdrawals above the monthly allowance, and the allowance resets at the start of the next month. Metal has no Sezvo-side ATM fee. Note that some ATM operators add their own surcharge, shown on the machine before you withdraw — that charge is theirs, not ours.

Are SWIFT transfers free?

SWIFT is included free on Metal (unlimited) and on Plus (5 per month). On Standard, each SWIFT transfer carries a fee shown before you send. SEPA and domestic transfers are free on every plan. Correspondent banks on the SWIFT route may deduct their own charges, which we surface and can cover in full so the recipient gets the whole amount.

How is savings interest calculated and paid?

Interest accrues daily on the balance in your savings vaults and is paid daily, at up to 3.0% AER on Standard, 4.4% on Plus and 5.2% on Metal. Rates are variable; we tell you in advance of any change. You can withdraw from a flexible vault at any time and keep the interest already accrued.

Can I really trade stocks with no commission?

Yes — stock and ETF trades are commission-free on every plan, and you can invest fractionally from £1. Investing carries risk: the value of investments can fall as well as rise and you may get back less than you invested. Other costs, such as currency conversion on a foreign-listed asset, are shown before you trade.

How do crypto fees work?

Our buy/sell fee is 1.5% on Standard, 0.5% on Plus and 0.25% on Metal. On-chain transfers also pay network (gas) fees set by each blockchain, shown before you sign. The wallet is self-custodial across nine networks, so you hold your own keys. Crypto is unregulated, volatile and not covered by the deposit guarantee scheme.

How do I upgrade or downgrade?

Change plan any time in the app. Upgrades apply immediately and are prorated for the rest of the billing period; downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. There is no exit fee and no minimum term, and your account, IBAN, cards and vaults carry over unchanged.

Is annual billing worth it?

Annual billing lowers the effective monthly price by around twenty per cent on both Plus and Metal — Plus drops to €7.99 per month and Metal to €15.99 per month, paid once for the year. If you intend to keep a paid plan for twelve months, it is the cheaper route; if you prefer flexibility, monthly billing has no commitment.

Where is Sezvo available, and who can open an account?

Sezvo serves residents of more than 160 countries, subject to local eligibility. You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction and pass identity verification, which usually takes a few minutes. Some features may be restricted in certain countries for regulatory reasons; the app shows what is available to you when you sign up.
